Everyone Needs Groceries

Everyone needs groceries, and it’s nice to have a little variety. Publix will be joining Wegman’s in Spotsylvania County. Other local grocery stores already available in Fredericksburg are: Nader’s Grocery, Nile International Market, Kickshaws Downtown Market and Giant Food. The local Aldi and Food Lion stores are scheduled for remodels at their Fredericksburg locations.

Pets Eat too!

Two new pet accessory and food stores recently opened in the Fredericksburg area. Pet Valu opened on May 20th and includes self-service pet wash stations. It is a nationally recognized chain store and will be working with local animal groups! Paws & Claws LLC is a small locally owned business that recently opened and carries specialty items like gluten-free pet food.

The Fitness Culture Continues to Grow

The Crossfit craze is spreading through Fredericksburg. RARE Crossfit recently opened a new location that will provide the opportunity for more than one class to be taught simultaneously. The new building has room for an additional five offices to be rented out to health-conscious companies, with the intention of creating a health epicenter for the region.

Retail Options are Growing in Fredericksburg, VA

Fredericksburg residents definitely aren’t lacking options when it comes to their retailers. A Goodwill will open next year and the local JC Penny store is expanding its company’s appliance department.

No Need to Travel for Taste

As Fredericksburg grows, so does the culinary scene. Years ago, residents may have had to travel to neighboring cities for a good bite to eat, but with so many new restaurants, there’s no need to travel for taste. TOF, or “Taste of Freshness,” will open this summer in downtown Fredericksburg and will offer healthy Asian fusion options. Il Mercato–an extension of the existing Italian restaurant, Orofino–is also a new addition to the area and offers expanded seating, a food market, and tasting events.
